This year, the Sauvage studio is doing the Christmas decorations, which feature the novelty of decorating the staircase inside the museum-house
This Christmas is a magnificent occasion to visit Casa Vicens Gaudí. Once again, this UNESCO World Heritage Site has been decorated for the festive period, this time by the Sauvage studio.
The studio’s proposal combines the building’s modernist architecture and the Christmas spirit. The decoration of the outside of the house focuses on both balconies that look out onto Calle Carolinas in the Town of Gràcia, highlighting the façade’s most emblematic elements with golden and warm lighting.
This year’s novelty is the decoration of Casa Vicens’ new indoor staircase, executed by the Martínez Lapeña-Torres and the Daw Office architecture office in 2017, which has received international awards. This time, visitors will be able to enjoy a large suspended garland made with natural materials such as pine and fir wood, matched with coloured spheres and a subtle light play. This ensemble is further enhanced by the red and green hues which are two of Casa Vicens’ iconic colours.
Special opening times
This Christmas, Casa Vicens will be open every day from 9:30 am to 6:00 pm, except for 25 December and 7 to 15 January, when it will be closed for restoration and maintenance.
