For the seventh year running, Gaudí’s first house has collaborated in the Annual Festival of the Gràcia district. Besides offering discounts on tickets to the museum-house and family workshops, it also awarded the prize in the best festooned streets competition sponsored by the Fundació Festa Major de Gràcia.
The award ceremony was held on Monday evening in the Plaça de la Vila square of Gràcia. The Casa Vicens award panel gave the prize to Joan Blanques de Baix de Tot street “for the good artistic execution and good technical resolution, to bring a country closer through its flora, lifestyle, sport, architecture, climate, or gastronomy”. The director of Casa Vicens, Emili Masferrer, delivered the awards, and emphasised that “to claim artisanal techniques such as Delft ceramics and the painting of artists such as Rembrandt or Vincent Van Gogh we have decided to give Joan Blanques de Baix de Tot street our prize”.
