This year, the floral studio dandelion has created the Christmas decorations at Casa Vicens, which can be enjoyed both outside and inside Gaudí’s first house.
This Christmas, Casa Vicens is adorned with a design by dandelion, inspired by the interplay between nature and architecture, and installed in two key areas of the house: the balconies on Carrer de les Carolines and the interior staircase.
The installation features a garland of green pine and deep red amaranth. On the Carrer de les Carolines façade, it spreads light and colour, while inside, a large floral display on the newly constructed staircase creates a dialogue between living matter and the geometric forms of the building.
Pine, symbolising eternal life and hope, and amaranth, associated with warmth and celebration, evoke the Mediterranean landscape and the symbolism of Christmas. The result is a composition in which the soft texture of the foliage contrasts with the full-and-empty geometries of Gaudí’s architecture. “With this proposal, we aim to reinterpret the Gaudian spirit through a contemporary, sustainable and organic lens, keeping the connection between art, nature and emotion alive,” explains the dandelion team.
The decorations invite visitors to rediscover Casa Vicens from a fresh perspective: a Christmas that brings together tradition, beauty and respect for nature.

Special opening hours
During the festive season, Casa Vicens will be open daily from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on 25 December and from 7 to 14 January, when it will be closed for maintenance and restoration.
