Gaudí’s first house continues its support for local sports as a sponsor of the CE Europa football school

Gaudí’s first house has now renewed its sponsorship with Club Esportiu Europa for the next two seasons. After serving as the main sponsor of the men’s first team in 2021-2022 and the women’s first team in 2022-2023, Casa Vicens will return as the main and exclusive sponsor of the CE Europa Football School which will now be known as “CE Europa × Casa Vicens Football School”. Each year around 750 boys and girls between 4 and 14 years old train in this school in the under-8, under-10, under-12, under-14 and under-16 categories.

This historic agreement to support a local sports institution was signed today between the CEO of Casa Vicens, Emili Masferrer, and Hèctor Ibar, the president of Club Esportiu Europa. In the words of the director of Casa Vicens “as a neighborhood cultural institution, we want to continue our support for this historic club and to keep creating links between culture and sports, this time at the youth level, reinforcing those two key pillars of education”.

The two-year sponsorship includes the “Copa Casa Vicens” which will take place every year from April to June, while Casa Vicens will also be the sole sponsor of the School Festival held on the last Saturday of the season.

The history of the two institutions is intimately linked to Gaudí and the neighborhood of Gràcia. Casa Vicens connects to both Gaudí and Gràcia as the architect built the home in Gràcia before it became neighborhood in the city of Barcelona. As for Club Esportiu Europa, the club’s second pitch was located right in front of Gaudí’s Sagrada Familia in the square that now bears the same name. It is said that Gaudí was the club’s first great supporter as he watched the training sessions and some games while he was working on his masterpiece. After changing locations several times, the club definitively moved to Carrer de Sardenya in 1940 while the current stadium, the Nou Sardenya, the tenth pitch in the Gràcia-based club’s history, was built in 1995.

This agreement once again links two main organizations from Barcelona’s Vila de Gràcia, Gaudí’s first house and Club Esportiu Europa, with the goal of strengthening the values of the two institutions through creative local activities.
