2026 marks the celebration of Gaudí Year and the World Capital of Architecture
The year 2026 represents an outstanding opportunity for the city of Barcelona with the commemoration of Gaudí Year, coinciding with the hundred year anniversary of the architect’s death, as well as the city’s designation as the World Capital of Architecture. Casa Vicens is excited about and committed to these two milestones, reinforcing its role as the first house designed by Gaudí and as a key work for understanding his later work.
Looking ahead to 2026, Casa Vicens Gaudí is working on new projects focused on improving sensory and cognitive accessibility, with the aim of moving towards a more inclusive and accessible house museum for everyone, in line with the project’s values and policy of social responsibility.
The main event at Casa Vicens Gaudí for Gaudí Year will take place in November, coinciding with its 9th anniversary as a house museum and the restoration of one of its most iconic rooms: the smoking room.
