Restoration of the Cathedral of Mallorca
1903-1914
In 1901, bishop Pere Campins visited the Sagrada FamĂlia to ask Antoni GaudĂ to reorganise and decorate the indoor spaces of the Gothic Cathedral of Palma de Mallorca.
GaudĂ accepted the commission. The renovation project included certain liturgical elements, furnishings and an iron, glass and ceramic baldachin, designed together with Jujol, which was never manufactured. Today we can see a model of it.
The project ended abruptly in 1914 due to discrepancies with the contractor and the bishopâs death.
