1903-1907
Along the pathway leading to Montserrat, the monastery decided to place a monumental depiction of the rosary: a set of fifteen sculptures that represent the mysteries of the Virgin.
Gaudí was enlisted to design the First Glorious Mystery, the resurrection of Jesus, represented through a cave excavated in the rock. In it we can see the sculptures of an angel by Dionís Renart, the three Marys holding a vigil over Jesus’ tomb and the figure of the resurrected Jesus in bronze, located in the upper part, a work by Josep Llimona.
