Photographing Gaudí’s first house

Photography Workshop in Casa Vicens, by Pol Viladoms (24/07/2018)
“Vision is synthetic. Life is appreciated through vision.”
Antoni Gaudí
In this workshop, participants will get to know the basic principles of architectural photography, learn to value the different actors involved, what type of equipment is appropriate, which phone applications can help us, etc. In short, the workshop is about providing new tools to better understand how we can create new images, learn to view our environment and start creating the photographs that we have in our minds.
The workshop combines theory and hands-on work. The theory part will go over the different concepts to take into account when we photograph buildings by projecting images of Casa Vicens. Later, the workshop’s participants will delve into the hands-on work in this privileged setting. They can walk freely through the house’s garden, through the interior and on the roof, and take as many photographs as they’d like.
During the hands-on work, the photographer will speak with anyone interested about the points of view and the doubts that the participants may have. At the same time, the photographer will bring his camera and lenses to show what it’s like to work with professional equipment.
The workshop will be led by Pol Viladoms, an architect and professional photographer of Casa Vicens.
When finishing the workshop, all the participants can upload a selection of photos on the “Casa Vicens” Flickr group to comment on them.
