Casa Vicens joins Gràcia’s Festa Major with a special prize in the decorated streets contest

Gaudí’s first house will award, for the first time, a prize within the well-known decorated streets competition of the Fundació Festa Major de Gràcia

From August 15 to 21, Casa Vicens will once again offer free activities in the streets and a discount on the purchase of tickets to visit Gaudí’s first house

For the fifth consecutive year, Casa Vicens joins Gràcia’s Festa Major. On this occasion, apart from the free activities, it has created a special prize for the street whose decoration best represents the selected theme. This prize for the winning street is added to the prizes of the street competition of the Fundació Festa Major de Gràcia, and will allow the winners to make a special visit to Casa Vicens Gaudí.

The director of Casa Vicens, Emili Masferrer, explains “as a World Heritage Site, it is a pleasure to be able to award a prize linked to artistic creation within this celebration of national interest.”

Free family workshops and ceramic demonstrations every day on the streets of Gràcia

Gaudí’s first house will also be present in the decorated streets through the workshop “Design your carnation tile”, a family workshop where participants will be able to transform the characteristic Casa Vicens tile into mixed media. Aside from the workshop, and given the success it enjoyed in past editions, you can also rediscover the manufacturing process of the carnation tiles characteristic of Casa Vicens through ceramic demonstrations carried out by Manel Diestre, master ceramist responsible for the ceramic restoration of Casa Vicens and owner of the Sot ceramics workshop located in Vila de Gràcia.
