For the fourth consecutive year, Gaudí’s first house hosts an exhibition within the framework of the LOOP video art festival
Until December 8 the temporary exhibition hall of Casa Vicens presents the finalist and winning works of the III NASEVO International Award
On Friday, November 5, Casa Vicens Gaudí opens two new temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The first, titled A Thousand Olfactory Images! It is part of the LOOP video art festival, and with this exhibition it will be the fourth consecutive year that Gaudí’s first house participates in this festival. This edition features a group exhibition curated by Cristina Agàpito, Art Director of the Fundación Ernesto Ventós, where you can enjoy works by world-renowned artists such as Antoni Muntadas, Francesca Llopis and Willi Bucher, among others, from the olorVISUAL collection of the Fundación Ernesto Ventós. After the appearance of Glenda León in 2018 and David Claerbout in 2019, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is this time exhibiting pieces from the large collection of video art that Ernesto Ventós grouped together under the name olorVISUAL collection. The title of the exhibition, translated as ‘Visual Smell’, refers to the phrase that Ernesto Ventós used when, through his olfactory memory, he connected with a work of video art. The exhibition can be visited until December 12, 2021 in the Gaudinian rooms of Casa Vicens.
On the other hand, and for the first time, the III NASEVO International Prize for Smell as an Instrument of Inspiration is being held, where the work of a total of sixteen artists under 35 years of age whose work has been a finalist or winner of this edition is presented. Cristina Agàpito, Art Director of the Fundación Ernesto Ventós, is the curator of this exhibition that can be seen in the temporary exhibition room of the house-museum until December 8, 2021.
