Casa Vicens Gaudí pays homage to the modernist poet Joan Maragall with its Christmas decorations

– Until 31 December, Gaudí’s first house is offering a 20% discount on all its tickets.

– The house and museum is presenting a new visitor experience: Sweet Gaudí, which includes an open date visit and hot chocolate with churros.

Gaudí’s first house is once again bringing back the essence of Christmas with its decorations on two of its balconies on Carolines street, in Vila de Gràcia neighbourhood. This Christmas, Gaudí’s first house pays homage to one of the fathers of Catalan modernist poetry Joan Maragall (1860-1911) whose poem Els núvols de Nadal1 (The Christmas Clouds) inspired the clouds sculpted on the building’s façade. The floral artistry has been created by the Barcelona-based floral studio Matagalán. Red, the universal colour of love, blends with Christmas symbolism providing warmth, generosity, and a festive spirit. The highlights among the plants in the floral decorations include the use of mastic which symbolizes protection and good luck as well as magnolia leaves that allude to perseverance and strength. In fact, there’s a magnolia tree near the entrance door to Casa Vicens.
